FREDERICK, Md. - The Bard College men's lacrosse team lost to Hood College, 15-3, in a non-league game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Blazers (6-2) dominated from the start, scored in the first minute, and outshot Bard 18-3 en route to 4-1 lead by the end of the first quarter. Freshman goalie
Lyle Healey made six saves in the first 15 minutes.
Hood broke open the game by outscoring Bard 7-0 in the second quarter to take an 11-1 halftime lead. From the last minute of the first quarter to the last minute of the third quarter, the Blazers scored 10 unanswered goals.
Hood got three goals apiece from Grayson Zubradt (Elmhurst, IL) and Will Clampitt (Lewes, DE). John Hoffman (New Market, MD) made eight saves, and Noah Waterlander (Naperville, IL) made two.
For Bard,
Emmet O'Connell scored twice and
Ian Shaw scored once;
George Goceljak and
Corey Rich had assists. Healey made 11 saves, and
Troy Ludtka made four.
William Baffuto caused three turnovers and
Sam Smith collected five ground balls.
