John McKechnie has been named as the Raptors' Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and will lead Bard in its inaugural year sponsoring lacrosse.

McKechnie previously held positions as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Amherst College and the College of Wooster. While at Amherst, his 1987 squad won the New England ECAC Championship and McKechnie was voted as Coach of the Year by the New England Lacrosse Coaches Association.

During his tenure at the College of Wooster, McKechnie was a member of the DIII All-American and National Ranking Committees.

McKechnie's focus at Bard will be recruitment of student-athletes in addition to providing depth and instruction in his new program.
